For the first time in weeks, it's not that cold in Aeden. There's snow here and there, but it's not knee-deep as I know it usually happens here. It's vibrant, with people walking around, children jumping hand in hand, singing hymns, and playing silly little games.
"What are you playing?" I ask the kids, crouching down to their level. They appear young, but the game they're playing resembles something I used to play with Chantel and Z.
"It's a colors and numbers game, my lady," one of them responds. "If he puts a red card with the number three, I need to either put a red card or any other colored card that's number three too."
"Oh, I know that one!" I say with a smile. "And the first one who's out of cards wins, right?"
