I hastily get up, lying that I'm going to get a drink. Some maybe haven't figured out that you can switch the comms to talk to someone individually. That's what I'm doing right now.

"What do you think you're doing?" I speak to Mera via the comms, my voice tight with barely restrained anger.

She doesn't reply. But I see her smile. Damn, she looks good.

"Mera, if you needed to attract anyone's attention, you know you could've come and kissed me. Why are you even doing this?" I mutter to myself like an idiot before ordering a glass of water.

The bartender looks at me weirdly but does it anyway.

"I think I'll forget all about this tomorrow. I don't know what kind of shots he gave us, but they're working. And they're good."
