I step toward her, holding her back. She turns to me, her wild eyes meeting mine, "Lexcis, say something. She- our daughter isn't here. They- someone took her!" She grabs my face when I remain unresponsive. "Our daughter is missing!"

Her words hit me fucking hard. It's like a building collapsed on me and I have to stand up and throw the bricks off of me. However, standing up isn't hard. Not when I have to find my little girl.

I don't think much about it, I slam Dane against the door, "You're our fucking headguard. Where the fuck is my daughter?"

Chantel's running down the hallway, opening every single door, checking every room. "Sir, I don't know how this slipped by us. This- I will find her immediately." He spits out and I let him go so he can do exactly that.
