Chapter 18

Troy didn’t utter a word in the car while driving back to the Rose mansion. The uncomfortable silence was killing Danica. She tried to start a conversation, but he gave short responses, much to her dismay. She regretted not telling him the truth, but she didn’t want to put him in danger. She felt someone was spying on her ,and if someone really did spy, it meant Troy was already in trouble because of her. She couldn’t possibly bring more trouble for him by telling him everything. It was better the way everything was going on.

After returning home, Troy stormed off to his room, ignoring Trevor who was sitting in the living room. Danica glanced at Trevor, who raised his eyebrows. She shook her head in dismissal and made her way to her room.
