Chapter 30
Perhaps Janet was in desperate need of blood and needed to burn through some fuel. The fact that no matter how far she travels, her thirst will never be quenched, is imperative for her. So she decided that the best she could do was just accept the fact that being human was a terrifying experience. Powerless and helpless. Eventually, after some time, Janet's thirst burns out, and they slowly navigate the dusk with only two flashlights while the earlier orange glow of the sunset has gone. Slowly, they walked to their goal. Yet, there was nothing but the sound of their footfalls echoing into the darkness ahead of them. It was so odd that on these nights, there was not even a trace of crickets or another creature. It was like even the wildlife itself was afraid of the dark.
Janet was light-headed with hunger and thirst, and she couldn't stop thinking about the blood she had long ago. "Ryan, you say the green liquid won't make me hungry. But I'm bloody hungry now."
