Chapter 39. Brief Calm
Charlotte’s POV
I held Iris’s hand as she told me everything. I felt as if I could understand her better now, why she acted the way she did when she met me. She couldn’t trust people anymore; once bitten, twice shy.
And all this was Rafael’s fault. I wish I could have given him a punch.
“I’m sorry, Iris.”
“It’s okay, Charlotte. I didn’t feel anything but hatred for him. The potion didn’t do anything because I believe I would hate him anyway,” Iris clenched her fist. “My hair hasn’t grown past this level for years; I still feel the tingling sensation from the bolt.” She stood up; her scars were too deep to ever heal.
Her hair, especially, was the same length as Hunter’s, and if you didn’t hear her voice, you’d think she was a man as she had her armor on that covered her chest, which wasn’t relatively big as well.
“Just know, if you want revenge against him, I and everyone here, except Hunter, we’ll be happy to help you.” I lifted my two hand
