Chapter 117. Returning or Not?

"I bring news about Ava." I said to him and I saw his eyes lit and suddenly faded as he looked away.

"Don't remind me of the woman who abandoned her pack." He said.

I shook my head. "Ava did not abandon the pack, beta Phil. You know what happened all those years ago." I said to him.

"All those years ago?" He scoffed looking away in disdain. "She left without a glance at her people. She allowed us face our trials and tribulations alone without hope." He insisted adamantly.

I wanted to shake him but I couldn't. That would be total disrespect. 

"Ava also has had her own fair share of trials, Beta. Her life and the lives of her babies were threatened and she had to flee for safety. Would you have preferred hearing the death announcement of your niece's children?" I questioned him.
