Chapter 219

Sienna’s POV

The whole pack goes quiet after the demons retreat. Not a peaceful type of quiet. But the wrong kind. The kind that feels like the land itself is holding its breath.

Warriors stay frozen and in shock at the broken border, their weapons are still raised, their eyes scanning the trees where the last demon vanished. No one cheers. No one relaxes. Everyone knows this wasn’t a full assault. It was a warning. A big warning to them.

Then someone notices the ground. Dark smoke curls upward from the earth in front of the pack house. The dark smoke was inscribing something on the floor. The warriors edge closer, their noses wrinkling as nausea rolls through them.

The letters are massive and huge enough for anybody to see. Burned deep into the soil as if the land itself was carved open.
