Chapter 93. Escape

A message from Shawn finally made Max think it was time. Max went to Willow’s room and knocked on the door. A short time later the door opened from the inside.

“Willow, you need to get dressed quickly. Don’t bring anything, just take Zoey and we’ll get out of here,” Max whispered urgently.

“What’s really going on, Max?”

Max glanced down the hall, then half pushed Willow into the room and closed the door. Max looked worried, but there was no time for hesitation.

“I’m going to take you to the edge of Cottonhill Forest,” Max said.

Willow was stunned. She didn’t understand why Max was taking her into the woods.

“There you will meet Kyler and he will take you and Zoey away from here.”

“Kyler? Are you kidding?” Willow asked.

“Does anything I say sound like a joke to you?”

“Max, I just want to know what’s really going on.”

Max couldn’t force Willow to leave without a short explanation.
