Chapter 94. Max’s Death

Kyler’s figure was already waiting anxiously with several of his followers at the edge of Cottonhill Forest. Upon seeing Jace and Max’s arrival, Kyler was instantly relieved. However, Max’s body suddenly collapsed and returned to its human form.

“Max!” Willow cried out.

Kyler quickly approached Max and was shocked to see that the gunshot wound was very severe, hitting Max’s abdomen. It must have been a silver bullet that hit Max’s body and hit a major blood vessel.

“We have to save him, fast!” Kyler yelled.

Suddenly, Max’s hand was gripping Kyler’s arm. “No, I can’t make it.”

“It’s only five kilometers from here to the clinic, you’ll be fine once the bullet is out of your body, Max,” Kyler replied, half panicked. “I need you to hold on.”

“There’s no time, Kyler. Take Willow and Zoey and go.”

“I can’t. You’re Willow’s husband and Zoey’s father, I can’t just leave you here, Max.”
