Precious

Noon rushed in, and my time with Joseph was cut short because he had a meeting with an alpha from another pack. I found Brie in a spacious hall.

“Hey there,” I greeted her.

Brie walked up to me. “How have you been?” she asked. “Sorry I haven’t been free today; I’m preparing the hall for the mating ceremony.”

My wolf squirmed with unease, but I kept my expression neutral as I asked, “Whose mating ceremony?”

“Oh, it’s Ella-Rose and Maxwell’s,” Brie giggled, and I released a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. “I’m so happy for them after all their childish plays and denials,” Brie continued, dancing around the hall filled with various musical instruments, trying to contain her excitement. I walked around the hall; the pack wasn’t particularly large, so there weren’t many seats. I couldn’t help but imagine having a ceremony of my own with Asher, my mate.
