Chapter 101. Jealous?

Lion had wanted to accompany his king, but he had not been allowed. Jacob wanted him by my side; he was the guard he trusted the most, and I was vulnerable. I would not be able to defend myself easily if we suffered an attack.
“The reinforcements are scattered throughout the city to avoid suspicion. Don’t worry; he’ll be safe. It’s just an ordinary house,” Ian said, trying to reassure me.
I turned to look at Ian. Perhaps he had more information about the house where this guy Thomas lived. The house wasn’t large, and from what Jason and Chris had described, it shouldn’t present too many problems. Ian began to write quickly.
“I don’t know that house. It belongs to important members. Only the highest classes go there,” he wrote, shaking his head. He had no information about the place. Then, he continued writing. “My grandfather always wanted to go there, but he never even got to see Thomas’s face.”
