Chapter 109. He Can’t Die

Lion was ahead of us with Ian, so Jason stayed behind me. Many steps behind me came Chris, who was in no mood or good humor at all. He was fed up with these situations, but a very strong desire for revenge was growing in his chest. He looked at Jason with terrible hatred; he could not believe that they had been friends before, and now this resentment had multiplied.
“It will be all right, I promise,” I said to Jason as we both held hands like an official couple. Surely, people would start saying things like that and voicing their opinions, but that was not our problem.
“Yes, but I already ruined everything,” he hesitated, not knowing what to do to take the blame off himself. Just looking at Chris had to make him feel terrible; the poor guy was so beaten up that it was embarrassing to look at him, and he took responsibility for it.
