Chapter 115. He Wanted Me Dead
CLARISA
On the way back, Jason didn’t say a word to me, nor did he make any move to accompany me to my room. I stopped him before he could make a move.
“You can talk to me, Jason,” I said and held his arm tightly. I couldn’t see the dimples on his face anymore when he smiled; he had become so taciturn he barely looked up.
He nodded his head and left without letting me hold him. I walked alone to my room, feeling strange to be back in the castle. I felt much safer there because I no longer had to walk the streets in fear that a serial killer would try to kill or kidnap me at any moment. That was a big difference, even though I still wasn’t free from danger. I closed the door and threw myself on my bed, drowning in everything that was going through my mind.
