Chapter 323. A Musical Piece
CARMEN
“You do it very well,” he said, in a sweet voice.
“Actually, no,” I replied, bending down a little. I had almost fallen to the ground three times without realizing it.
I tried to stand still for a few seconds. He looked at me suspiciously.
“Things don’t always go well the first time. This is a unique dance, no one knows it except me, because I created the steps.” He smiled, without letting go of my hand.
That physical contact was too much for me, it kept making me extremely nervous. I knew I was scandalizing myself for a silly thing, but I had never felt this way about someone before.
“I created the music, I’m a composer. And Karl did the dance,” the man playing the instrument introduced himself. “My name is John, it’s a pleasure to meet you. You’re the queen’s best friend, aren’t you?”
His question brought my feet back to the ground. The queen, Dove, I remembered the mission.
