Chapter 20

Her head ached as she woke up. Could this be what they call a hangover? It felt like a hammer was pounding on her head, and she felt nauseous. Instead of getting up, Ella lied back down.

She wanted to sleep all day because her head hurt so much. She promised herself never to get drunk again. She wanted to text Damian again to ease her headache, but she was afraid of being found out. After all, her headache wasn't real last night; she just acted up to be with Damian. It's all a game of timing.

"How's the hangover?" Damian asked when he noticed her move. It was already eleven in the morning, but she hadn't had breakfast yet.

Ella was surprised to hear Damian's voice so close. She rolled over and widened her eyes when she saw Damian comfortably sitting on her couch, as if he had been waiting for her to wake up.

"Morning, Damian. My head hurts so much; I don't want to get up yet." Although she wanted to go back to sleep, she couldn't because of the pain, so she just sta
