Maverick did not agree to follow Damian and Olivia because he was afraid that Damian might think he's obsessed with him. So, they decided to just enjoy themselves at the bar instead.

"Are you sure about your plan?" Ella asked Maverick, feeling uncertain.

"Trust me. If you want Damian to notice you, listen to me, okay?" Maverick said. Besides, he strongly felt that Damian wouldn't take Olivia home.

"Okay, but you'll regret it if your plan fails!" Ella warned Maverick, emphasizing that his suggestion to wait at the bar had consequences.

"You really don't have faith in me. I'm a guy too, Ella, and I know how Damian's mind works. Besides, we're cousins!" Maverick said.

"So what? What do I care if you're cousins? I'll be really mad at you if I see Olivia at our house!" Ella added.

Maverick just sighed because Ella was too feisty. "I don't know about you," he said.
