Chapter 119

Gabriel’s POV

The sounds of the birds and the sun on my face woke me up from the very uncomfortable slumber. I took a minute to get myself together before sitting up. My joints ached, both from laying on the hard floor and from yesterday’s fight with Kai’s men. Samantha was still asleep a few feet away from me so I had to get up and approach her so I could wake her up. I bent down beside her and gently tap her but she mumbled some incoherent words and wanted to turn so I tapped her a little harder and her eyes flew open with a frown.

“What?” She growled and I hitched a brow up. Did she forget that we were on a mission

“We have to find Aarav, remember? And how are you are you sleeping comfortably on this hard ground” I asked her because I was genuinely curious

“I’ve dealt with worse conditions so leave me alone” She sat up and stretched and her bones made loud cracks when she did. She got on her feet and I did too but we didn’t move from our spot.
