Sofia tried to call the line that Mateo had given to her incase she wanted to reach him, but there was no response.

She tried for the fourth time before giving up on calling him.

"What is the matter?" Eve asked her daughter.

"Mateo is not picking up his all. Maybe he is busy with stuff and doesn't know how to tell me."

Sofia sighed, slipping her phone back into her pocket. She hated this nagging feeling of worry, but she couldn't shake it either. Mateo always responded promptly to her calls and messages before.

"I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation," Eve said, resting a hand on her daughter's arm. "You know how preoccupied he can get with pack business."

"I guess..." Sofia reluctantly agreed, though her brow remained furrowed. "It's just not like him to go this long without at least sending me a text to say he's busy."
