Chapter 27
XANDER
"I have some bad news," the doctor said. She had a no-nonsense attitude, and her demeanor was professional and stoic. She was dressed in a white lab coat, a stethoscope hung around her neck. She carried a clipboard in her hand, and as she walked, she made notes in it. Her face was lined with wrinkles, a sign of age and the tightness around her eyes spoke of her many years of experience in the field. She had a pair of spectacles perched on her nose, and her eyes were sharp and focused as she checked Adriana's vital signs. Her movements were swift and efficient, and it was clear that she knew what she was doing. She had a kind face, but it was clear that she didn't mince words when it came to giving bad news.
"Adriana's condition is more serious than we thought. We have to run more tests and do further examinations to understand what's happening." My sister and I looked at each other, our hearts heavy with fear and uncertainty
