Chapter 29
XANDER
The doctor advised us to go home and rest, but Daciana insisted on staying. She wanted to be by Adriana's side, no matter what happened. I tried to force her to leave, telling her that there was nothing more that we could do, but she refused to go.
After some time, Daciana reluctantly agreed to leave, but only on the condition that she could see Adriana one last time before we left the hospital. We walked down the hallway, hand in hand, towards Adriana's room. Daciana walked over to Adriana's bedside and took her hand, tears streaming down her face.
I put my arm around her and we stood there, in silence for a few moments. We didn't have much to say, communicating our pain through silence.
