Chapter 39
Mason Hart
I screamed out for Freya as she plummeted to the ground. It looked as though a meteor had hit the ground, and there was a huge crater around her. She was curled up in the fetal position, and all I wanted was to get to her to see if she was okay.
“Evan, please let me out of this thing,” I begged calmly while standing up.
I thought he may have refused, but I think he saw how concerned I was. My anger had subsided, and all I wanted was to help my Fianna. He waved his hand near me, and the green light net he’d trapped me in faded away. As soon as it did, I ran over to Freya and got into the crater that cradled her. She was breathing, but she wouldn’t wake up, no matter how much I nudged or shook her. I looked up at Evan with worry, shrugged in response, then took his mobile out of his pocket and scrolled through it. He put the phone to his ear, then put it on loudspeaker when the person he rang had answered.
“Evan, darling boy…” Coraline said cheerily,
