Its lips curled up and over its pointy teeth again, this time in a deadly sadistic sort of smile. A mix of fear and rage quickly surged inside me. An instant survival instinct kicked in, and I felt myself getting stronger as my rage built. I was shaking all over but not with fear. No, my whole body was now filled with pure and undiluted adrenaline.
I thrusted my arms straight up and into the wolf as hard as I could. The wolf went flying into the air and whimpered when it hit the ground. It skidded across the grass on its side, before coming to a stop. I quickly shot to my feet to defend myself. Engrossed in the moment I had completely forgotten about my sprained ankle and collapsed back down onto the floor as I tried to stand on it. I saw the big black wolf trying to right itself, and it began to get up. I changed tactics to defend myself and crouched down onto the grass. I had my bad leg stretched out behind me, and my good leg bent underneath me for support.
