Did I lose? After swearing to Celeste and Auraya that I would avenge Master by destroying the Dreadmaw pack’s Alpha, here I am—defeated by a damned Delta. I was a fool to think I stood a chance from the start. My entire mission feels like a cruel joke now. My life’s purpose, the promise I made—it all amounts to nothing. I failed them both. Auraya, I’m sorry I couldn’t avenge Master. And Celeste, I’m sorry. I tried so hard to look ahead, to imagine a future I might share with you, but I suppose I’ll never see that future after all.
My body grew weightless, and blinding light filled my vision. Colors—vibrant hues of emerald, sapphire, crimson, and gold—whirled around me, merging toward an even more dazzling radiance.
