Lira’s POV

Once I’d settled down after all the screaming, Seline told me exactly what had happened. We’d both tumbled through a crack in the earth into a deep ravine—where I’d nearly drowned. Seline, however, had saved me by unspeakable means. I almost vomited again but gritted my teeth and held it in.

Now we were trapped in utter darkness, with no sign of life or even a faint glimmer of light.

“My Luna, what do we do now?” Seline’s voice quivered in the blackness. “Wait for Sir Zephyr and the others to come find us?”

It was a solid plan. After all, we were part of the Dreadmaw pack now, and Zephyr prized hard workers. Seline and I had completed our mission, yet what if they were in battle? It would be far more honorable to find an exit ourselves.
