From that moment onward, everything spiraled downward. After the summit concluded, we made our way back to the village under a gray, brooding sky. No matter how fervently I begged him to forgive me, Leon remained unmoved. In front of every single pack member—my family—he stood at the center of the clearing and denounced me with ringing clarity.
“Lira! As of today, we share nothing in common!” Leon’s booming voice carried across the hushed faces of the Crimson Howl pack. “You are no longer our Luna!” His words pounded at my heart like iron hammers. “Celeste did nothing wrong, yet you turned everyone against her. You will atone for this, mark my words.”
Each syllable felt like a blade slicing through my chest. After all the love I had poured into him—after every whispered vow and gentle night spent by his side—he cast me aside as though I were a mere scrap of cloth to be discarded.
