Chapter 136. Epilogue: Golden Era pt. 10
“Terry, baby, what happened? Why are you like this?” Alfred whispered in a sorrowful tone. He gently stroked Terence’s thick, silky hair, staring at the man’s pale, gaunt face with a crushing sense of guilt.
According to the doctor, Terence was dehydrated and stressed. His body was overworked from physical exertion, and his mind was reeling from worry and sadness.
Damian stared at Alfred critically. “Why did you hurt my pop, dad?”
Alfred turned his gaze to his teenage son and saw sadness in his sharp eyes.
“I didn’t do it on purpose, son,” Alfred said. “It was stupid and careless on my part, but I didn’t mean it. I thought everything was fine because all I was doing was work, and there was no other intention. But Doctor Ryan...”
“You gave him the opportunity to hurt my pop,” Damian said sharply.
