Chapter 53. False Words

Giovanna stared at Luc. He met her gaze and smiled reassuringly. It was as if nothing had happened. But the pleasure she felt was so intense and so good that she wished it had only been the delusions of her mind. In her secret heart, she wanted Luc to love her like that. Theo stood up and everyone turned to him.

"I need to sort a few things out..." Richard said and left without further explanation.

Freya looked at Giovanna as soon as Theo was out of her sight.

"Is that who you spent the night with?"

Luc turned serious and then looked at Caio, who was also watching everything that was going on.

"Son, brush your teeth and go to school. I can't wait to find out what you're going to learn today." Luc said affectionately and Caio kissed him and Giovanna before leaving. Then Luc's countenance changed. His eyes darkened. "What have you done, Giovanna?"
