Chapter 65. Time Ran out

Three days before Caio's birthday, Freya went to see Theo without any desire to talk to him, but she had to. He wasn't the same anymore, and he didn't even want to go back to bed with her until she'd talked about the details of the night she'd spent with the winged creature. She felt she had to stay away from Theo, but this was a special occasion, according to the cook. Giovanna was going to be three months pregnant, and it seemed she had no idea about her condition. Theo heard the child's heartbeat as soon as she came in one morning for breakfast. And from then on, they kept a close eye on her.

Theo was in his room, where he spent most of his time, looking out of the window and Freya came in without knocking because she was sure he knew she was there. She found him looking out of the window as usual. He didn't turn to her.
