Giovanna had her eyes closed, observing everything Veronica was seeing and hearing, and she felt that energy that merged with Veronica, the moon inside her, as if it were Veronica herself.

She looked at him askance.

Jensen pointed to her head.

"Your hair! For a quick moment, you glowed with a white and blue light and now... You have a white streak that's very evident in your very black hair."

Giovanna picked up the right strand and looked fondly at her white hair.

"It will be an eternal reminder of my sister. But I still don't understand why it hit me..."

"You were too focused. I think... Even from a distance, you must have absorbed something from her. What happened to our sister?"

"She's gone." Giovanna said, letting go of her hair and her eyes returned to their cold, indifferent gleam.

"Is she dead?"

"I think she'll wish she'd died before too long.
