Chapter 50. Under the Light of Day

The next day, Brendon woke up and looked around. Samira wasn't there. For a moment, he thought he had lost her forever and it froze him in terror. But he felt his chest ease when he heard the sound of the shower in his room. He scolded himself for the absurd feeling. She was an experienced woman and he was a fool who wanted to repeat everything they had done that night, at that very moment.

He got up and thought about taking a shower with her and asking her how she was feeling. Perhaps she didn't even remember what had happened last night. She'd had too much to drink. He was pensive and looked at the bed and noticed a red stain on the sheet. He walked over and lifted the sheet, then threw it on the floor. The sheet was stained with blood. Brendon thought about it.
