The alpha kings were not back by the time we sat down for dinner. Since we saw my mom earlier peeping on us, we decided to hold off our spying until the next day. For some reason my appetite was low, and even though the food smelt absolutely delicious, I had to force myself to take a few bites. Dinner was uneventful, filled with awkward chatter and Elias's eyes on my neck until he made me wish I had a scarf around my marks.
"I'm taking food to Nana," I announced once everyone was done, the word "Nana" flowing naturally out of my mouth. I expected my mom to protest, but she even offered to go plate the food and bring it to me.
