As I carried Delaney down the dungeon bridal style, my heart was racing, aching from each side as if each valve was being pulled with so much force. At some point in the corridor, my left knee almost gave out, the reality that Delaney was with our pups no more flashing once again across my saturated mind. After trying to convince her to rest and wait to see Seraphina the next day, she had threatened to burn down the mansion and anyone in it. She wouldn't even listen to Maribel, not one bit.
