Chapter 23
Delaney
The moment we stepped into my room, the air thickened. Everything between us had shifted; it felt more charged and magnetic. Before their betrayal, I felt a pull to them, but it was nothing compared to what I was feeling at that moment. My wolf hummed with anticipation as the bond pulsed like a living thing, stretching invisibly from my body to theirs.
They didn't rush me, not at all. Instead they stood, watching, their burning gazes making me shift on my feet. For the first time since everything happened, I let myself be free.
"How are you feeling?" Kai asked, standing in front of me. He stretched his arm, brushing his hand on my cheek.
I took a sharp intake of breath, trying to pull myself together. Accepting them meant that I felt twice what I felt when I didn't have a wolf.
