"Who gave you the permission to let Carter inside this compound?" Ronan barged into my bedroom, his gaze directed at me in the middle of my bed. I sat up, leaning on the headboard, placing the novel I was reading aside.

"Permission?" I echoed, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Yes, Delaney. You let a stranger into this estate without consulting with us first," he repeated, standing at the foot of the bed. "So I will repeat my question: who gave you that authority?"

I let out a chuckle of disbelief, shaking my head. "You have been away for two days, and the first thing you do when you get back is talk to me like this?" I asked, tilting my head.
