I’ve been angry for the past few days. I knew that being away from my partner was making me a time bomb. I begged Faye to tell Caius, but she wouldn’t listen.

Even though we were miles apart and only half-mated, I could feel everything she felt. They talked about how fated partners end up together, but I knew this was different. I couldn’t stop thinking about her or wanting her, and I had an unquenchable need to be close to her and protect her.
