Chapter 74. You Don’t Need to See
Elise threw up as bile rose in her throat. A tear fell from her eye, and she moved her shaky hand slowly around the doorknob to open it.
I lost all my anger as I watched her slowly fall apart. All the color left her face, and tears ran down her cheeks. I saw her heartbreak and her body tense as Finn’s betrayal darkened her soul. I put my hand on hers to stop the door from opening.
“Don’t! You don’t need to see.” My voice was barely above a whisper, and I couldn’t look at her because I was so ashamed. I had gone too far and hurt her in a way I never wanted to do again.
