Chapter 20
As she continued her chore, she absentmindedly began to hum a tune to herself, the sweet melody serving as a soothing background to her newfound contentment. It was a feeling she hadn't experienced in what felt like an eternity. For the first time in what seemed like forever, she could finally let go of the constant worry and fear that had consumed her days. The thought of him, the tormentor who had invaded her life, no longer brought forth the paralyzing terror it once did.
She couldn't help but wonder: was it because she now knew there was someone who would keep her safe? Perhaps it was the presence of a newfound protector, a guardian angel of sorts, that allowed her to embrace this newfound ease. The knowledge that she was no longer alone in her fight against her stalker brought her a glimmer of hope, a flicker of light breaking through the darkest corners of her mind.
Finally finishing the last dish, she turned her attention to something more nourishing for both her
