Chapter 165
Alpha Rolan's POV
I paced the floor of my study, the walls closing in on me as the weight of Pandora's disappearance pressed on my chest. Every second that passed felt like an eternity.
The phone lay on my desk, calls to our neighboring allies proving fruitless. My head throbbed from the strain, but I couldn’t stop. I wouldn’t stop until I had her back.
"Come on, Caleb, pick up," I muttered under my breath as the dial tone buzzed in my ear. But no answer. I slammed the phone down and raked a hand through my hair, frustration bubbling to the surface.
A sudden knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts. I turned sharply, the sound jarring in the tense silence. I wasn’t expecting anyone.
My first instinct was to send them away, I wasn’t in the mood for visitors. Not now. But I couldn’t afford to show any cracks, not until I understood the full scope of what was happening.
