Savannah’s POV

“Welcome back, sweetheart, how was the party?”

Dad greets me excitedly as soon as I walk into the house. He’s not even waiting for me in his office or anything, he’s waiting at the door. And I’ve never seen him this excited before.

“It was great, dad. I met a lot of wonderful people,” I reply. Juju and Lexy are walking behind me and they’re giggling like a bunch of middle school girls. I shove their arms stealthily before turning back to my dad, smiling innocently.

“Just as I expected,” Dad claps his hand and proceeds to walk me up the stairs. “Oh, by the way, Carter sent his regards. Said he’s very pleased to meet you.”

As soon as I hear his name, my breath hitches in my throat.

“He talked to you?” I ask, sounding as casual as possible.

“Yeah, we were on the phone earlier,” Dad replies, pausing for a beat before adding, “You know, he’s quite taken by you. He’s told me of his plans to invite you to London.”
