Chapter 75. Crossroads
Savannah’s POV
One hour later, by some miracle, I manage to board that plane.
I let out a hefty sigh as I sink into the middle seat. Juju’s already passed out by the window, an eye mask on, earbuds in, head tilted slightly toward the glass like he hasn’t got a care in the world. Lexy’s on my left, calmly flipping through her book, legs crossed, as if we didn’t just run across half the airport to catch this flight.
I stare blankly at the screen in front of me as the stewardess begins her practiced speech about seatbelts and oxygen masks. Her voice is pleasant but muffled through my haze. I couldn’t concentrate if I tried.
It’s been one hell of a morning.
I mean, to sum it up—I had arguably the most amazing night of my life with Harlan and Logan. Magical. Intoxicating. But then… that dream. That damn dream with Carter. It’s like he’s crawling through my subconscious, whispering things I didn’t ask to hear.
