Chapter 7. Fire

On getting to the office, she went straight to Madam Cross’s office and knocked.

“Come in!” Madam Cross said a bit loud as she concentrated on the workload at her front that morning.

“Good morning ma’am,” Anita greeted respectfully as she headed towards Madam Cross.

“Grand rising Anita! I hope you had a nice rest last night. Come and take a look at this file on my table. It’s about a case we need to pay attention to.

Investigating this matter would be really worth it,” Madam Cross kept talking.

Sensing Anita’s silence that morning, she looked up.

“So what’s with the silence? I am talking to you about what I need you to attend to. Can you even hear me Anita?” she said with her hands crossed.

“Ma’am I can hear you. I just have something I would love to talk to you about,” Anita said, her voice sounding a bit hard.
