Asher stood in the doorway, dressed in a crisp black suit. A rose peeked from his top pocket like it was his wedding day all over again.
For a moment, Azalea froze. Her eyes locked onto his face, disbelief crawling over her skin. It was him.
She let out a muffled hiss through the gag stuffed in her mouth, her body jerking in protest.
He smiled softly, stepping closer like this was some grand reunion.
"You have no idea how long I’ve waited for you," he said, voice low. "Or maybe you do."
Her heart thudded harder.
The closer he came, the more she struggled. Her wrists twisted in the ropes, her eyes burning as tears started to well up. She shook her head. Her lashes clung together, soaked.
She was begging. Silently.
Let me go.
Why did you bring me here?
None of this made sense. She didn’t even know him like that.
