Chapter 139. Like the Small Village in the UK
AFTER briefly speaking to Lucian in the corridor, Latton returned to Victor's office and sat in his chair. She can't stop reminiscing about Lucian's reaction after she corrected him by calling her Mrs., instead of Miss.
"Why do I feel bad when I see him sad?" She asked herself while checking the documents that needed Victor's signature. "I should be happy, he no longer has that smug look on his face. He must have been boastful when I fell about his lies over and over again." She said to herself as she clenched the papers tightly scrunching them in the process.
Shortly after, Victor entered the office. He notices the frown on her face, "Hey, what's with the sad gloomy look?" He asks as he moves towards her.
"Nothing important. How's the meeting?" She inquired detachedly.
"The usual boring business stuff," he replied, seeing how expressionless she was. He then added, "The meeting is so boring. The only noticeable thing is Lucian looks disconnected."
