Meanwhile, across the town, Jo found himself standing before the imposing gates of a grand estate. He had been summoned here by a woman he had encountered at a recent gala, her haunting presence lingering in his mind long after their brief encounter.
The gates swung open soundlessly as he approached, revealing a sprawling mansion. Jo stepped inside, his senses on high alert, and followed the winding path to the front door.
The door creaked open, and Jo found himself face to face with the woman he had come to see. Lisa, her features softened by the gentle light, welcomed him into her home with a gracious smile.
