Chapter 156. Mission Failed
Eva's face brightened a little. Finally, someone welcomed her with open arms and enthusiasm.
"Good morning, Mrs. Melanie" she replied. "For the time being, I'm staying here. I want to accompany and take care of my mother so she recovers faster."
Melanie's eyebrows rose higher. "Isn't that a waste? There's already Ava taking care of Mrs. Connor. Her performance is good. Can you be better than her? Besides, now there's a nurse on standby."
The corners of Eva's lips twitched. Before she could respond, Melanie turned her gaze to Vivian.
"Where's your son and Ava? They haven't arrived yet." Melanie sat beside Vivian.
"They should be here any minute. They're never late. Except ... they were exhausted because of last night." Vivian covered her laughter gracefully.
"Exhausted? What do you mean? Because of the party? Was it that fun? If I didn't have a phobia of heights, I would have gone along."
"Not because of that." Vivian leaned towards Melanie.
