Chapter 35. Sweet Solace

Alexus stood up and lit the lampshade before he switched off the light. As he returned to bed, he drew the comforter over her when she rolled over.

"Sure, "Thank you," she replied, smiling. Even when Alexus held her hand, she was taken aback. 

"Rafa, good night," he merely said. And he felt the touch of her hand.

"You're a loving father, Alexus," Rafaella said. 

"And you're the same," he replied. "I'm so proud of having them in our lives and having you in my life." 

Rafaella was stunned. She did not know what to answer her husband.

"Not everything that came between us was a bed of roses, but I intend to make it better this time, Rafa." 

"What do you mean?" 

"I want you in my life as long as I live..."

"I cherish what we have at the moment, Alex. I hope you don't get tired of understanding me for my lack of remembering my past. And I can feel how you cherish and care for me with patience. Thank you. .."&nb
