Chapter 41. Sinister Moments

Alexus felt content as he emerged from the bedroom and closed the door of the room he and his wife shared in that cottage. He let her sleep, which he knew she needed to recover fully. 

He went to where his children were so they would not sulk with him. And such was his joy when they came forward to meet him. 

"Where's your wife?" Timothy asked. 

"I decided to give her a breathing space and check with the kids." 

"Don't worry about them as they were enjoying themselves?" 

"Daddy?" Joshua said, trying to get his father's attention. 

"Yes, son?" He replied as he picked him up. He watched his little girl with Libby, scribbling something near the bayside. 

"Where is Mommy?" 

"She will follow in a while," he replied. 

"I want mom..." Alexus roared with laughter. 

"Alright, watch for Lucy, Tim... it's strong current today..." 

"No problem. We'll take care of her..." replied Tim
