The other man in the room scurried off but Aren dropped the pen in his hands a bit loudly on the counter beneath the hanging map to get Cole’s attention.

With a light, mocking smile, he walked past Cole slowly, catching sight of the redness of his cheek where Aria’s angry palms had visited. He could see the anger in his eyes and could tell that Cole wanted to wipe that smile off his lips at that very moment.
