Cole sighed. He wasn’t about to do that for someone who posed a threat to his relationship with Aria, or Ironwood as a whole because he was still an intruder after all.
“Please?” He heard Aria plead and the walls around him dropped, his heart thudding. “I’ll get on my knees…”
“Don’t,” He held her before she could.
“Do something then. Move him to a room at least.” She pleaded once more and he sighed.
“Okay,” He agreed. He couldn’t say no to her, no longer because she was angry—she didn’t seem to be anymore—but just because he couldn’t bear to see one more teardrop fall from her eyes. Her beautiful eyes. Eyes that he thought should be adorned didn’t need to shed tears, and especially not for someone like the intruder.
